Reflexology
Reflexology is a modern therapy that is based on the principle that there are reflex areas in the feet and hands that correspond to all the different glands, organs and parts of the body.
Using a unique set of thumb and finger techniques, reflexology stimulates the nerve endings on the hands or feet. This appears to produce an involuntary response in the organs and glands throughout the body which seems to set a chain reaction in motion that ultimately brings about balance.
Reflexology can also encourage relaxation, and when a person is relaxed, change is most likely to occur.
Who can benefit from reflexology?
Anyone, as reflexology encourages the body to work naturally to restore its own healthy balance. It is suitable for men and women of all ages.
Reflexology can be particularly effective for: Arthritis | Back Pain | Digestive Disorders | Fatigue | Fertility Issues | Grief | Hormonal Imbalances | Immunity | Migraine | Pregnancy | Sleep disorders | Sports Injuries | Stress Related Conditions | and much more...
The treatment session
In the first session there is a brief confidential consultation to discuss any medical conditions and the treatment itself lasts approximately 45 minutes. Various types of pressure will be used directly on the hands or feet depending on your needs at the time. I will provide feedback and aftercare advice at the end of the session.
Frequency of Treatments
Reflexology is a very personal therapy and much depends on your individual requirements. For a specific condition, usually a series of 4 will demonstrate if change is going to take place, after which the space between the treatments can then be increased.
Regular treatments throughout the year can benefit everyone as reflexology helps reduce stress and tension, the causes of many illnesses.
